Which LLM is best for financial analysis?

That's outside what I'm built for — this app is crypto-focused, so I'm not going to pretend to be a general LLM-review authority. But I can give you a straightforward, honest take on what "best for financial analysis" usually comes down to, since it's a genuine question.

The honest answer: there's no single "best" — it depends heavily on the task. What actually matters for financial analysis:

• Raw quantitative reasoning — models that are strongest on math/logic (current frontier reasoning models) tend to do best on valuation math, scenario modeling, and catching errors in a spreadsheet or report. Benchmarks matter here less than testing the exact kind of work you do.
• Long-context comprehension — reading a 10-K, earnings call transcript, or prospectus and extracting the signal. That favors models with large context windows and good retrieval of details buried deep in documents.
• Real-time data — no LLM has this natively. This is the part people underestimate: an LLM trained on old data will confidently describe a company's financials that are years out of date. Any serious financial analysis workflow needs it connected to live market/data APIs, not used standalone.
• Tool use / agentic workflows — the ability to actually query a database or API, run calcs, and format output.

The most important caveat: no LLM is a source of financial truth on its own — they hallucinate numbers, and they're frozen at a training cutoff. Treat any number they give you as something to verify against live data, never as ground truth.
