Analyzing crypto isn't a single method — it's usually a mix of four lenses, each answering a different question:

1. Fundamentals (the "what is it worth" lens) For a coin/protocol, you look at things like:

Market cap vs. fully-diluted value, token supply and emissions
Protocol usage: TVL (DeFi), daily trading volume, fee revenue, active users
Tokenomics — how much of the supply is locked/vesting, and who holds it
Competitive position vs. other projects in the same sector

2. On-chain analysis (the "what are holders actually doing" lens) Blockchains are public ledgers, so you can watch real behavior: exchange inflow/outflow (coins moving to exchanges often precedes selling), active wallet counts, whale wallet movements, and — for a new token — liquidity locks, holder concentration, and whether the contract has honeypot/tax red flags.

3. Technical analysis (the "what's the market pricing in" lens) Price charts, volume, support/resistance levels, moving averages, RSI. Also derivatives data where available: open interest and funding rates tell you how leveraged and one-sided positioning is — extreme funding can signal a crowded trade.

4. Sentiment & macro (the "what drives the crowd" lens) Crypto is a risk asset, so broad macro matters: interest-rate expectations, dollar strength, regulation news, and general risk appetite. Fear-and-greed-type sentiment indicators and search interest are lagging but useful context.

A useful habit is to treat these as cross-checks — e.g. price is up (technical) but holders are sending coins to exchanges (on-chain) while a protocol's usage is flat (fundamentals). That tension is more informative than any single signal.

One honest caveat: no free tool gives you everything, and two gaps are genuinely hard to fill for most projects — who actually founded it, and its real vesting/unlock schedule. Always weight those unknowns when judging risk.
